My friend, Tracey Jackson, writer and blogger extrordinaire inspires me regularly with her wisdom on blogging. Two bits of wisdom;

  • Post regularly
  • Readers are drawn to puppies… she said more than that but the point is puppies make people respond more than blogs about cancer or causes do…

Really, Tracey says so much more ~ http://www.traceyjacksononline.com ~ but today those two points are relevant.

Post regularly, a few weeks ago I didn’t have anything to post and knew I had to post something or I’d be in mentor Tracey’s bad books. Kidding of course! I’ve noticed that many of the bloggers I follow, will often simply post a picture or a thought or something they’re infatuated with that week. So, I thought, as I’m scouring sites anyway looking for inspiration for the inn or for clients and I save what I like… why don’t I share those? As soon as I hit the send button I gulped “Oh no! Who’d be interested in my obsessions?”

Puppies and Design Concepts appear to rule. Lo and behold it appears my followers love viewing pretty design. I’ve received comments and emails that people love them. YAY and THANK YOU!

As I was sharing the puppy theory with my hubby and told him of my design sharing surprise, he said “That makes total sense to me, people need a break from the world and puppies and pretty things don’t take thought or work and can be enjoyed” ~ paraphrasing of course, I’m sure he was much more succinct!  So, this will be a regular feature and will appear on Mondays; please let me know your thoughts and interests.

This week’s obsession is on my ~ soon to be garden ~ and on poolside design as those are moving up the job jar pretty quickie!

I just love this, has nothing to do with my garden but I LOVE this photo!

  1. Thanks Tracey, today’s blog had many challenges but every week I learn something. About tomorrow… something deep maybe, it’s the 1 year anniversary of my dad’s death and missing him it reminds me of people who are living and… well you know! OR on a lighter note I really want to see pics of your pool in the Hamptons, you gave a glimpse of it once and I loved ~ please, show more. Thanks for your advice, support and LOVE!

This week I tried new things and well let’s just say I learned some stuff NOT to do, haha! 3. Mentor says gold star! It’s interesting that sometimes it takes blogging for a bit to find the real heart of our blogs and what our readers want to hear and see. I started off blogging more seriously and I too find when I post photos or moments of pleasure people really respond. I think when you posted that photos of Italy was an ahah for you. And while you can still write your thoughts and deeper feelings maybe that is once a week, once every ten days.You have a great eye and people will want to and do want the chance to look through it.And thank you for the shout out.xxoxo TPS Im sitting her pondering what I’m writing about tomorrow. Any ideas?
