Ready or not… here it comes! CHRISTMAS 2011, is two weeks from today.
Living in Mexico, or at least in our small town, talk of Christmas is so different that my experience in Canada. There’s no hustle and bustle, instead, folks are talking of helping Santa with gifts for the orphange kids.
Or going to Philo’s to ease Santa’s load ~ we wrap presents for the kiddies.
Happy faces on Christmas day!

SOS Children’s Village BC: Parade of Trees
December 2nd to 27th
Every year for the past 17 years, the Spirit Gallery of Grouse Mountain, The Peak of Vancouver has been transformed into a forest of beautifully decorated trees, all in the support of SOS Children’s Village BC.
The trees are generously sponsored and decorated by individuals and corporations who are committed to supporting children in foster care whose homes have fallen apart. Their sense of safety destroyed.
The Festival is open to the public, who are invited to browse through the holiday display in the Spirit Gallery of Grouse Mountain. The Parade of Trees is a fundraising event that has become a holiday “must-see” tradition in Vancouver for thousands of people. We invite guests to cast a ballot for their favourite tree and get a picture with Santa in his workshop. There is no admission cost, but we suggest a minimum $2 donation to SOS Children’s Village BC for every vote cast for your favorite trees. For donations over $20.00 a tax receipt will be issued. The event runs from December 2, 2011 to December 27, 2011.
