Kite surfing is a dynamic sport! We love to watch the young, athletic and strong ~ or the young at heart ~ jump on a surfboard, attached to a sail, climb into the air. Kite surfers control their vessel; gliding across the waters at high speeds, manuveuring between each other and sailboats, performing spectacular jumps; it’s awesome and breathtaking!
Competitors met on the starting line at noon at Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle for the speed competition of both the kitesurf and windsurf categories. The finish line is close to the beaches in Bucerias.
Bahia Banderas, the bay in front of our, soon to be Inn, Villa Amor, has fantastic winds for all wind sports. Chris and I and our friend Joaquin, the local sailing instructor plan to create weeks of sailing lessons whereby our guests can try their hand at a variety of wind and water sports then return to be relax by the pool! Let us know if this interests you.
Riviera Nayarit cheers for Diego Tron, our local hero.
